Jew baits

Hi all,

Heading out for Jews this week. Was wondering if anyone has used mullet from freshwater as bait?

I don't know that there is a difference in species but we have been getting them at Richmond alot and am not sure.

Many of the mullet at Richmond are sea mullet and flat-tails which are happy to travel up from the lower reaches for a look and a feed. Many will also push well upstream into the Nepean. The longer they stay in this area, the more likely they will develop quite dark backs and a greater taste for bread baits and small flies. They and the herring in the area make good baits for many saltwater fish.
