Gawd I Love This City

Out we head at a respectable 9.30am,

decided to go straight to Bluefish Point. In two years we have never seen it so calm out there, it was like a lake. Berleyed up and just got swamped again by slimeys and yakkas. All horses you couls saddle and ride!

After a couple of hours of these chappies biting everything we threw at them we went for heavier leads to get down past them and sure enough, Bang straight onto something heavy. After a tense battle whatever it was did me on the bottom. Rigged up again and down we go to hook on to a nice little snapper. You Bewdy thinks I. Then starts the tailor. Over the next hour we hook 20 of the blighters to about 50cm and fighting wonderfully. Amongst them we pick up two nice trevors.

Then I came up solid on another BIG fish and yet abloodygain it does me on the bottom. Rig up again and hit something solid as hell! For a moment I think it's a snag till it starts to come up. A long, slow retrieve starts and eventually the biggest Goddam cuttlefish I've ever seen comes on board (photos to follow).

Final tally for the day 80 plus fish in perfect calm conditions and beautiful sunshine!

it doesn't get much better than this! 3 fish for dinner and a great day out on the water.

I had Des, the legend charter boat captain and his wife Val out with me today as guests. Dollface made them choose sides and sure enough the women stuck together. Bloody beauty thinks I, me and Des will kill them! You guessed it, they beat us 47 to 38.

I am doomed to be outfished by my bride for the rest of my life!!!

But, it's a shit loada fun
