repaired my trailer

hi all, after an accident my trailer ended up in a bad way with a massively bent draw bar, for some reason insurance dont repair trailers so i got paid out and got to keep the trailer,i positioned the trailer with some porta powers and a come-a-long heated and pulled back strait, i then cut some 10mm steel plates used a thin peice of metel to bend to the angle i needed then tack welded the plates to the bench, heating them up so i could bend them to the angle needed, one done i grinded the gal off where i needed to weld and welded the flat side in place then had to clamp in the other side to bend to the curve of the trailer, flipped it upsidedown to gain a really good weld on the bottom and off i went, all done and ready for the boat to get back on,

hope you enjoyed the read

cheers andy

you could be a boilermaker :1yikes: 10mm pl that will never bend there again well done looks like i did it :biggrin2: the only problem you may have is rusting on the inside were the gal burnt off a well positioned grease nipple and a few squirts should stop that

cheers gary

I want your garage!

Although truth be told I wouldn't know what to do with half the stuff in it :074:

A garage with a fire truck, car hoists and a scissor lift in it means serious business!

Looks like its easily the strongest part of the trailer now!
