Yakkas

Hey guys and gals...this question is probably asked all the time but what is the best way to catch yakkas ? Hook size and bait and so on any help would be awesowe...in all my years of fishing slot of the time seemed rushed but now wanna take my time and get out that little bit earlier and try and get some fresh bait and hook a real big fish :)

size 12 longshank hook

light line, 4kg is heaps

smallest splitshot sinker...just enough to get the bait down in the current

bread/dough or small pieces of prawn

and most importantly a quick arm to hook those slippery ones

use a mustard sabiki jig with peeled prawns burley up and u cannot miss u can catch them around public wharfs in port hacking or if u have a boat mol point in botany bay

I go the jigging setup you can buy in the shop for $2.. Six hooks 6/0. Never have problems catching them if you burley up and drop the jig in the burley trail.

Only trick is to try and keep them from getting tangled if you want to use them multiple times.
