DezM
Hi Not much to rave about, but i caught my first 65 cm king for the season in north harbour on a live yellow tail. I have switched to bridle rigging them with a needle and wondering how many others are using this technique? The yakkas seem to swim more freely and the hook doesn't foul up on the body. They also last a lot longer. Dez

lostproperty
How would that effect the way the kings hit the bait? I've read that they will only swallow a yakka head first because of the spines, did your king take the yakka head first when it was bridled? I'm not an expert but the 3 kings I've caught so far have all taken the yakka head first hooked through the top of the back, don't seem to die underwater, only if we pulled them out and move around and dropped them down a few times, we were anchored tho, not trolling so could be different?? aero.gard
Hey champ I use the same rigg. Works well on the bigger sizes but don't get that many good hook ups if they are rat size
stevo-72
Hi all , i got hold of some cheap little cable ties( multi - colour ones) from one of those majore automotive supliers. You can pass it through the eye socket easy...zip up the hook and cut the tag off.
DezM
I have been shoulder pinning them which occasionally leads to the hook being fouled up or the fish getting off. Will see how it goes this season. Will try trolling them next. Anyone using the bridle needle and elastic band for squid? D

Hi charzy I fish from a small tinnie near Davis marina. There are land based spots if you take the walking track out from forty baskets beach. Went last night and caught a nice school jewfish, more details and photos to come - I haven't measured it yet. Taken off a yellowtail fillet. There's lots of bait in the harbour, the yakkas and tailor had tiny baitfish in there mouths. Perfect weather last night, no wind. Dez
