Fun on the flats

Had a ball last friday arvo fishing the flats in the harbour. Found a spot that had some bait along the sand flat edge and got a mixed bag of tailor, bonnies, a brace of nice 50-60cm flatties. The highlight was getting a legal king on 10lb in a couple of ft of water on a bassday sugarpen surface lure. They cast really well so i made a long cast right up into the shallows and the second i started to move it a king launched out of the water and hammered it, with lots of line out it made for an awesome fight on light line, the king was just legal at 66cm but by far one of my most memorable captures. Sorry no photos because of the possible rain i didn't take a camera...always the way...should have used the phone but always forget what they can do
