not sure bout the sliding part mate, but a two hook snell is just a snell knot and you leave enough length on the tag end to tie another hook. correct me if im wrong raiders.

the adjustable part........you could just loop the line through the top hook again so it isnt fixed, im assuming this is what you need.

hope this helps, took a little practice, but as they say practice makes perfect.

mate the way i do it is i either tie off or if its heavy leader i use crimps to attach a bottom hook and with the top sliding one i just run the line through the eye of the hook and then use bait mate [ flexable thin cord sort of stuff ] and wind it around the shank about 20 times .to finnish off i do 2-1/2 hitches . it holds the top hook firmly and slides up and down with a bit of presure .

hope it makes scence .

You can cheat a bit (only a bit because they're very similar knots) by tying the snell down the shank with a uni. The other thing that is almost imperative is that you use a bit of red whiting tubing to protect the main line. This also allows you to snell the slider on really tight so it holds position in the bait but is still free to move with pressure.

So, slide the first hook up the main line with the line through the eye. Slide your tubing on too, and hold it parrallel with the shank. Take a second peice of mono, and make a loop ala uni knot and also hold that parallel, have the short tag at the eye, and a longer tag towards the bend. (I always use lighter to make it easier to tie and to keep the knot neat - it doesn't matter if it breaks, as it is still connected to the main line and stopped by the fixed hook). Now wrap the long end around the shank, tubing, and line cross-over towards the bend. at least 6 wraps, but you can keep going as far as you can. Wet and tighten. prob best to use pliers, not your teeth, as you'll have a hook point close to your face! Then just uni your fixed hook on to your main line.

Pretty simple once you've done it a few times. A second pair of hands can help to tighten the knot too, as it can be a bit hard to handle it all and co-ordinate the tightening process. As with all knots, practise on the couch in front of the TV until you're confident.

Well said LBG, right on the money. A fellow raider snap-er showed me this rig on his rod, as said in LBG's first paragraph you really need the tubing or the line will wear.

Thanks alot guys... Anyone else want to contribute? Maybe with a diagram or pic???

C'MON BJ YOU DONT ASK FOR MUCH! :074:

Mate get geoff wilsons book of knots. I have never bothered to learn it coz quite frankly i could never be bothered and fishing with lures 99% of my time its not needed nowadays but my mate did show me a couple of time and basically it was a suicide tied via a normal snell, with another suicide tide onto the main line using an additional length of line, thereby the mainline running through the snell and along the shank of the hook closest to your rod tip. My mate does them with his eyes shut, i just by the gamakatsu 3 packs of ready made non adjustable ones if im after 2 hook rigs which is very rare that i use them.
