cosi
I have been looking at different boats that I can add to my wish list and noticed that the Bar Crusher and the Surtees boats are very similar. I spoke to one person in the industry who stated that Bar Crusher used to import the Surtees boats in from NZ and then rebadge them, but now make their own. Not sure how true any of this is though. a boat
Hi, a very touchy subject if you talk to the people actually involved with this and about 18 months ago I had a very friendly and frank chat with Neil Surtees from NZ who filled me in on his side of the story and it is quite a story and as with every story there will be two sides and the truth will be somewhere in the middle. The chat we had was about stocking the Surtees boats and I was close to importing them back then but the Aqualine range is superior again in my opinion and why I continue to import these. In fact only yesterday I ran a 550 Hardtop that is leaving early next year to go live in the NT and trust me there is not a softer riding, more stable alloy monohull boat made. Cheers, Huey. It would be beneficial for Aqualine to update their site with higher quality images and also the design of the actual site. It would make for better viewing and would engage the customer just a little bit more. As for the Surtees, I can not comment, but if indeed that are the same or are very similar then I would want my australian dollars staying in this country and would opt for the Bar Crusher if I was in the market for one that is. a boat
Hi, if you are going to buy the boat on the quality of the website and the photos on it then yes the Aqualine is not the boat for you and I wish you well. I have ridden in and rigged all the brands you mentioned and could stock and sell either of them if I choose but I like what I like and if you want photos or better yet see the build quality, ride and stability in the flesh easy to do if you just ask. As for your money staying in Oz, then yes you have a valid point and I think I never said they were the same and yes if YOU like and want to buy a BC go for it and enjoy the boat but there are better alloy boats in my opinion. Cheers, Huey.

Cheers, Huey. Huey, I meant no disrespect with regards to my comments about the site. I just wanted to say that a boat with such a good rap from you deserves a few extra pics. With regards to my money staying in Australia I meant that purely between the Surtees and the Bar Crusher. If I were in the market for a new boat, then yes your comments alone would warrant a visit to your shop. Perhaps sometime in the future.
a boat
Hi Cosi, no offense my end mate and I agree with you, the website is not the best I have seen but the boats are so that is the main thing. I have plenty of boats that have left here if you want to see what I mean and in the New Year we will have a new models 620HT and 535 in stock and they have to be viewed and water tested to see how impressive they are. Cheers, Huey.
