Winch issues

Hi All

Not sure how to explain this but here goes

our winch hex wont catch on the lowest gear as the previous pin slipped thru and into the water

so now when winching the hex nut just slips and rolls around - thus the winch doesnt get pulled

this is the lower gear cog - the main one for getting a boat onto a trailer - using the high speed cog is an absolute pain in the ass, nearly impossible unless its already on the trailer proper and on the rollers

we can use a steel nail as a pin in the interim, but wanna get the proper parts eventually

Where can we source such rare parts and what are they called? Bias mentioned shear pins or roll pin, but they didnt stock any

Places like Repco or similar sell roll pins, you just need the right size for it.

There is a place in Nth Parramatta where you can buy just about anything like that.

As Taree terror says, they are called Roll pins.

I can assure you that you would be wasting your time going to the "big Hardware" stores - been there done that!

yeah i just did the rounds for zilch - havent hit repco yet

super cheap auto had winches, i pointed to the part, they shook their heads - lol its right in front of me
