kingie chaser
Hi all, well im a bit of a novice but love to get out there. I've only had my tinny for 10months & have only been fishing in botany bay & Georges river without to much success. I would like to get into the harbour but dont know any spots at all so without giving any family secrets away I am after some general area where I could catch the follow species- Kingies, bream, flathead, well pretty much open to anything!! I plan to put in at rose bay & was contemplating heading over to Watsons bay & maybe near the qaurantine station but will have to check the map as I think there are some sanctuaries/no go zones there? I would be greatfull for any help on spots & prefered tackle & baits. Cheers.
oz_brett
Im a novice at the harbour myself but I can tell you for kings head for the marker just inside north head - wich one you ask? that would be the one with all the boats around it. Allso there is wedding cakes being the white timber structure / channel marker just at the end of Watsons bay. Not far from wedding cakes there is a reef (sow & pig) directly in fron of Camp Cove. this link will help you work out where to head for.... Map Sydney Harbour hope that helps. hughsnews
Hey Mate, I have fished in the East quite a lot. His the sand flats of Rose Bay. There are often some nice deep holes and trenchs through the sand and you should be able to get some nice flathead. We usually used blades and some soft plastics. Under the wharfs and boats you'll find some bream, also try near the Pier restaurant although expect an audience from the cafe to be watching! Good Luck
