Wollongong - Land Based

Recommended Posts

Hi Raiders,

Taking my uncle down to the Gong during the x-mas break. Unfortunately he gets desperately seasick, so charter is not an option.

Can anyone recommend any landbased options that are easy(ish) access as he's not the youngest fella.

Thanks in advance.

Tight lines and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

You can try the ledges under the Sea Cliff Bridge.. access is at the start of the bridge on your way north.. You have to climb down a ladder but its pretty easy. you can park your car about 50 meters up the road. Also try Coalcliff beach ledges just watch out for the swell if its up.

Enjoy.

Iv had some success of the breakwall on windang beach where lake illawarra emptys out so you can try there, the chanels around the entrance of the lake (near windang bridge) are allright for flatties n bream and if all else fails Id recomend going to tallawarra power station and chucking in in the hot water chanel on the right hand side, theres heaps of smaller bream there so you will be getting constant bites with the chance of scoring some legal bream and flatties, hope that helps some good luck to ya n merry x-mas

was good, thanks.

Got into a couple of suggested spots up there and everyone got some keepers.

Auntie even caught an octopus, so she was quite stoked!

Thanks for the great suggestions guys!

Happy New Year!!
