raysenior
Hi, If your boat is in your avatar, i would say about 100 meters , plus 5-10 meters chain. thats what i carry on my 6m trophy. cheers snr
LeoB
G'day. It is really dependant on depth. The deeper your anchoring in, the more rope, and especially chain you will need. 100m of rope is usually ample, but use more, or heavier chain if you have problems getting your anchor to grab. oz_brett
it depends on where you want to anchor and how deep it is, as raysenior said 100m would be good, keep in mind that you should use 3 times the rope = 10m water put out 30m of rope / for rough water and/or strong winds use 5x depth = 10m water use 50m rope. this is the recomended by anchor manufacturers. some one like me I only realy need to carry 50m of rope if my sounder says more then 10m were drifting (I aint droppin no anchor over the side its a long way to pull it back up again)But thats just me being lazy. CHEERS FOR THE NEW YEAR GUYS! Brett Edited December 25, 2011 by oz_brett
