spotterone
Had a few sessions in Sydney Harbour and on Cowan Creek over the last few days, and have come home with virtually nothing. Not really sure what I've been doing wrong. I'm using all the same previously successful techniques, but nothing has enticed the fish to the end of the line. I've even tried a few new techniques just to be sure, and they haven't worked either. Firstly, I fished Sow and Pigs for a few hours on the run up to high tide, but it seemed that the current was very weak. My berley trail sat under the boat, and never brought the bream up into it as it usually does. Fail #1. I also tried squidding around bottle and glass. Not even a follow! Nothing happening when trolling Rapala CD9's around the heads, nor casting poppers around the wedding cake. Next day, I tried Cowan creek at a spot where I'd previously caught flatties on blade lures. Must have put in 200 casts in every direction and nothing! I think the fish just know I've got the bug again and spent money on new gear, so now they don't have to bite! Need to reconsider my options. dacosta74
I hear your pain! I've got the bug too for catching my first Kingy. Have been reading up loads, buying enough tackle to open my own store, but still sweet eff all. I don't have a boat either, so it sucks when you've hired a boat and built it up to be the fishing trip to end all fishing trips and then nothing. I'll be taking up golf at this rate!
