niclebum
Hi Raiders, I'm heading up to Ballina with my friend Hamish (Flatboy) for three night purely for fishing.. I'm trying to find a couple of possible spots that we could get some nice flatties one arvo on plastics.. We'd also like to give the breakwall a go maybe for a jewwy or some salmon and tailor.. Any spots would be greatly appreciated as we're wanting to make the most of this trip Thanks Nick
martoiscool
Hey nick, Mate I live not far from ballina and fish it regularly. It is a great system with plenty of fishing options. When exactly are you coming up?? I ask cos it is a very popular holiday spot and the greater influx of people has made the fishing a bit tough at the moment. Also will you be bringing a boat?? As the best spots on the river are boat only. Plenty of fish can be caught land base but the good spots are fairly crowded right now. Pm me ur number and we can talk business... Cheers, Sam. Rafinx
Seen alot of the older fisho's with their alvy reels there, and their unweighted ganged pillies off the beach, unfortunately no jews or big fish. But I found when ever I found a flatty on the beach, I would move up about 20m and cast again for another flatty. The reason I said the breakwall is because people told me there were alot of jew fish that hang around there.
