manhands
Lovely morning down here yesterday, bit misty rain but seas flat no wind. Took boat to about 25 metre mark off Windang beach and drifted. Few others had same idea, didn't even bother using more than one rig as hits were within 10seconds of hitting bottom. Fished for an hour or so, released probably 15-20 flatties around the 30-35 cm mark, kept 2 around the 50cm, headed back and ate them for lunch. Plenty blokes cleaning flatties at the ramp, one guy had a monster muddy he'd got as well. No pix as I filleted them out there. Must be lots of prawns about as nearly every fish I pulled up burped out a prawn, and the 2 I kept were chock full of them. I got mine on fresh squid though. cheekiifisher
I was down there yesterday for 6 hours and I was chasing flat head and all i got was small undersize whiting. There were a few people around me that caught few small flat head as well. Great spot though
dabble
nice capture, not having a go at you this is just so your aware but its actually illegal to fillet your catch out at sea. Fish are supposed to be kept whole so that when you arrive at the ramp fisheries can still check your catch for size limits, i believe your allowed to gill and gut them but not fillet or take the heads off etc.

dabble
I agree, i thinks its better as the ramps get stinky and alot of the frames never make it back in the water which is a shame. however i geuss you can see why its a rule. anyway just filling everyone in. Not sure what the rule is on having fillets and the frame??? probably be able to talk your way out of it if push came to shove, unless the officer had just been dumped the night before
cut_loose
Windangs full of undersized whiting and all the Flathead in there at 35cm i swear haha, unlucky because they're Dusky Flathead and you have to let them go. The 50cm are great fillets

The 50cm are great fillets I was offshore not in Lake or channel, all were sand flatties. Most of the whiting in lake or channel are just under size, but the beach has had some stud whiting past month in the close gutters. Reckon I've caught 30-40 in that time only a couple weren't keepers. On worms or pippis.
