pnp005
Hi Guys, wondering if anyone has a Haines Hunter 520R that they use mostly for outside fishing and any comments. Also looking at putting an ETEC 115 on back and has anyone had good/bad experiences with this motor. Thanks
a boat
Hi, I choice to stock and sell those two brand because I believe they are the best and the 520R is as good as you get for a 17 foot runabout. They are made very well, I have been to the factory myself many times and seen how both these hulls and engines are assembled so that is why we recomend them and I could sell any brand of outboard or hull I wanted. A 520R and a 115HP V4 E-TEC would be a perfect match and yes, just like everything mechanical made by humans, there will people with good and bad stories, but the facts are-we have been in this marine business over 45 years and if we were having headaches with Evinrude as a product it would be silly selling them because, as a dealer, you make the least money from servicing them and for the owner they tick all the boxes with best warranty and lowest ownership costs. I do not think you could go wrong with either a 520R and 115HP E-TEC but if YOU like another brand then make sure the dealer is switched on because every hull and outboard from time to time will have issues and most can be caused by bad rigging. The V4 have been EXTREMELY solid for us and we sell and service ALOT. There is not a 115HP that performs as well or costs you, the owner, less to operate-that is a fact. PM me and I can give you the Raider price for what you want on a top of the line Tinka trailer (because, trust me people forget about trailers but they can cause more greif if you use a cheap one than outboards or boats.) Cheers, Huey.
