jordan.widz
G'day raidas Well it's been a while since I've been here. long time no post ay. Since I joined the Navy last year it's been pretty hectic and I haven't had much time to get out for a fish but lately I've had a bit more time on my hands and have had a few great sessions on the water My first session would have been out on Port Phillip Bay chasing snapper and it was very different fishing for them down here than it is in NSW. U don't have to find structure to find the fish, just sound around till u find marks and anchor up over a patch of mud or sand. Got a few reds an my pb which was in the 3kg range. My goal this year is to double that an land a 6kg reddie. After that I got 4 weeks off and spent Christmas/new years in Sydney with the family and friends and had a few great sessions out on the old local river... Berowra, catching flatties and bream on placcies, my mate pulled a nice breambo outta the racks and I scored a good flattie on a tiny ecogear sx40 After that I headed up further north to lake Cathie (south of port Macquarie) and pretty much nailed the whiting in the lake where u would be hard pressed to get one under 30cm the key was live unweighted nippers over the flats and long casts. The 4lb Berkley nanofil performed great for this type of fishing. Got a few in poppers too but all to small and it wasn't as productive as the nippers. Whenever the family wanted a feed of We could just walk down to the lake and pick up 6-8 whiting an a flattie or two in only a couple of hours. We also had a session out of lauriton over the reefs and got a few snapper, mowies, flatties and a gurnard and had almost perfect weather. So that's about all the fishing I've fit in up untill now, also did a bit of wakeboarding and four wheel driving but now I'm back on base and I brought my rods down with me so if anyone knows some land based spots around the West and northern sides Western Port it would be greatly appreciated If u could point me in the right direction. Thanks for reading and here's some pics. Cheers, Prawn Star Snapper from port Phillip bay Flatties from Berowra Bream from the racks PB whiting 36cm One of many feeds of delicious whiting A bit of 4WD'ing And a bit of wakeboarding More whiting Some Reefies from Lauriton Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dfishin
Sounds like you had a great few weeks. Its always good when you can mix some quality fish with some quality water to have a wake board. Dave
