mattyv86
Gday guys, went out today with some live beach worms and some light tackle chasing some whiting. Fished for about an hour and ended up with 7 whiting all over 30cms with the biggest one going 35cms. went home and had some lunch then busted out the kayak in the Entrance lake with some soft plastics for some flathead. Straight away onto a nice 44cm specimen, ended up with 6 flatties with the biggest being 57cms. Threw them all back even the whiting to fight another day. Just out for the fun of it. Great days fishing, Pics to come.
Joco
GREAT report Matty, thanks for sharing... MIGHT see you out there... Thought the torrential rains might have ruined the fishing up north, obviously not
swano
That sounded like a top day,use to spend the weekends at the entrance with Swordie many moons ago. Did you get the whiting on the beach or lake, would have been hard to throw them back,YUM. Do you still get worms & pippies on the beach,Curious, because i have heard there is a serious problem with their numbers, and you cant find them on a lot of beaches. PlayerOne
Nice work! Good to see there's still fish about after the annual hammering it gets over the school holidays.....
mattyv86
yeah caught the whiting at north entrance beach just lobbing out into a nice gutter with nice light line. Threw them back because I kept 5 from the day before from the same spot. I just bought the worms from the local tackle barn, they where only $2 a worm and they where massive worms, there are bugger all worms to be caught there on the beach. the lake was empty about 3 weeks ago in the middle of the holidays but luckily didn't take long to recover. Plenty of flathead to be caught on soft plastics, also saw an older lady catching some nice flatties on local caught prawns. I have released many big flatties in the last few weeks and have caught many tiny baby flatties only an inch long in the lakes mouth on worms soo its good to see the lake is coming back to life.
