jimmys5 Posted February 5, 2012 Share Posted February 5, 2012 what makes you think its a girl? flathead can be identified at 20cm long as to what sex they are. contary to many peoples beliefs, the fuscus(dusky flathead)do not change gender at all, and its quite possible for a male to get that big. looking at your photo, i would guess that infact it is a male, it has a bullish look , especially in its shoulders and its thickness. it is true, however that the females grow bigger than males. i have heard up to 1300mm, but never seen it?
