Went on a chater boat off terrigal on saturday was on the boat at 6am and started to catch yakkas as the captain ran through the rules off the boat and safety instructions it was your normal charter with us going to a reef in 40 meters of water about 2 klms out all fishing was bottom bouncing with the usual suspects caught in trevally around 2 kgs 20 in total some snapper ranging from 28 to 40 cms 7 in total caught with 3 kept while at this reef a small black marlin off around 60-75 kgs started free jumping about 100 meters from the boat heading north we were 4 klms from shore stayed on this reef for 3 hours then moved to another reef in 50 meters of water and a live yakka was sent out as a free swimmer this lasted 20 minutes when i noticed it had come up to the surface and after 30 seconds a mako off around 40 kgs hits it i grabbed the rod and let it run for about 20 meters and put the drag to strike pressure then the fun started with it jumping and doing back flips 8 feet into the air it did this 5 times then started to dive deep i played it for 5 minutes and as i handed the rod over for another fisher to have a go it bit through the trace and swam away on this reef sargent baker were caught as well as 3 kgs morwong after this moved out to 60 meters to drift for flathead with 12 caught 10 being eastern blue spot and 2 tiger.
