PERMATRIM

Just considering whether or not to install a Permatrim. I have a Quintrex 570 with stern drive which is a bit bum heavy and I've been told the Permatrim will get me on the plane faster and generally help to keep the nose down at lower revs.

Can any of you blokes offer any feedback from your own experience?

every boat is different but I have put one on my boat and happy with it although I had no probs getting on the plane I just had a problem of the nose bouncing at the touch of the slightest wave (porposing as they called it at permatrim).The permatrim corrected the problem and most likely improved on everything else. Im in a 6m alloy (stessco) with a 150 honda outboard

gday. in one of my previous boats - a haines v19 c with 135 mariner 2 stroke (the best boat i ever had), i fitted a permatrim. results were great. faster onto the plane, planed easier at lower speed, and fuel consumption was a bit less.

You may loose a very small amount of top speed 5-8% but this is more than compensated for in general drive-ability and the on the plane response time, will also keep the nose down at low speed.
