tide'n'knots
hi guys, I fished the hawkesbury on thursday night for a couple of nice jew. I arrived with my mate joe at around 4pm and the plan was to fish in broken bay for flathead and just on dark anchor up at our bream spot for a few bream. Unfortunately our plans went out the window when we arrived and the wind was howling, so we decided to fish near the rail bridge for a while until the wind died off and then try our bream spot , unfortunately the wind didnt die off until about 11pm and our bream spot was totally exposed to the elements and we were forced to try a new spot tucked in behind a headland out of the wind. We both felt that it would hold a few jew and we were right! These two grabbed the baits in the first hour or so after dark and they slowed down once the big full moon came up, but we managed 4 others that were throw backs around 43cm. All the fish were caught on full squid. If you look close at the smaller fish you can see where I foul hooked it near its bum! pete. marcel haber
well done Pete, glad that plan C worked due to locations A AND B being canned due to the wind. You guys persisted with the elements and still came up trumps. Twin1

Cheers gday mate, I use california squid, I find they work almost as well as fresh. the rig is a double hook rig, top hook pinned in the top of the hood and the bottom hook through the bottom of the hood and out the head. pete.
