fishifish
Hey guys, I am new to fishraider and hoping for some help, we have been fishing off a bow rider (I'm sure has nothing to do with the success rate) on weekends when the weather is good for 3 years (which works out to be 5 times ) and only managed to get a couple of legal size snapper and one just legal king. We have mainly been targeting kings and snapper around bellambi, harbour and botany but mainly botany and we occasionally fish the FADs. this summer I find botany a lot cleaner and more active. We whent out to botany FAD around 1pm yesterday and only managed to get hit by mini dollies, we spent around 3 hours going towards the FAD and drifting away hoping to get a legal one with no joy. As we where cruising back to the ramp we spotted surface action near the first runway (approx 6pm) so we pulled up and worked the metal jig with no hit....we also dropped a large prawn on a 5kg braid, something tugged it and that was the end of it.... It broke the line.... I would really love to know what they are, they made big slpashes on the surface but could n
LuckyL
Hi there We fished earlier and it was taylor/bonnies and salmon they were there from the morning through till late Hey guys, I am new to fishraider and hoping for some help, we have been fishing off a bow rider (I'm sure has nothing to do with the success rate) on weekends when the weather is good for 3 years (which works out to be 5 times ) and only managed to get a couple of legal size snapper and one just legal king. 350chev
Welcome to fishraider You will find most of those frenzy schools are tailor, salmon and Bonnie's. They are real picky at the moment I caught a salmon on Sunday while fishing for bream and when I got him in the boat he was spitting out small white bait probably about inch or smaller. Best whey to get a strike would be to use small sp and drift into the school as not to spook them Good luck Daniel
seacow
We threw just about everything at them from 7-11am on Saturday morning for only 4 hook ups and 2 bonito. Not a hit on the metals no matter how small (1.5 inches long) to how big (15gram raiders). The two bonnies took small clear soft plastic stick baits on a really jerky retrieve after letting them sink. Was thinking that whole whitebait without any weight to them might do the trick. However hard to get a cast to the feeding schools before they are put down by the boat noise. Still can't believe that boats travel straight over the top of the school and wonder why they put them down. Maybe fishing edicate needs to be subject to get your boat licence? 350chev
Hi seacow, It happens all to many times. I can understand maybe a first timer doing that but even after a few times surely they would notice it was pushing the school down. I think the worst thing is when you try to tell them nicely they get all fired up and tell you where to go like you want all the fish to yourself You've gotta laugh sometimes Cheers Daniel
camel
I was out on Saturday and came across some schools in the bay. They seemed to be exclusively Bonnito. And they were feeding on tiny bait. Here's a pic. Regards Anthony
dhype
Mostly bonnies with a few salmon and tailor mixed in... I have been getting bucket loads over the past weeks, very easy to catch if you know how... all my fish caught on clear jerkshads , metal slugs not working at all! This is what i have been using and the bait the fish have been eating.. Cheers Trung
