Howdoweplaythis
Been trying for a bream on SPs for a couple of weeks now for no luck. I normally use a 1/16 jighead, but i decided to buy a packet of 1/24 yesterday and also a pack of squidgy wrigglers, 80mm in bloodworm because i heard they were good. I headed down to woolies bridge at narrabeen lake, a spot that i know holds a few bream. First cast, and a few twitches later i see a few subtle tugs in my line. It's normally just some little fish toying with the lure, but i decide to set the hook anyway. Surprisingly, it had some decent weight to it. Turned out to be a happy little 20cm bream. Quick snap, and he went back in. Was still very happy though, even though he was small. Second cast and i had the lure about 1m in front of me and the next flick, i had some weight. Turned out to be a bream, bang on 25cm. Very happy. Flicked for another hour or so for nothing. There were a few occasions when about 3 or so bream would follow the lure back, but wouldnt bite. What should i do if that happens? Besides that, i got a nice 40cm flathead, which got an invitation to dinner tomorrow along with the 25cm bream. autocad
I would give the lure a few flicks then let it sit for about 10 seconds. Flick again then let it sit. Sometimes the bream will pick it up off the bottom.
