joshot15
G'day raiders, Im taking my girl fishing tonight in Sydney Harbour in an attempt to get some flatties or bream for a feed. I usually use SP's but tonight im going to opt to bait fish so that its a bit easier for her. Was going to use chicken breast marinated or prawns. Can anyone suggest some rigs to use (sinker size/shape and hook size/shape) and spots to try (we live in Waverton so the north side would be better for us) I really want to get her on to a fish cause if i don't im not sure ill ever get her to come fishing again! Any help is appreaciated Josh

night_rider
Gday Josh, If your girlfriend is willing to go fishing on Valentines Day rather than go out for a romantic dinner the only advice i could give you is ..MARRY HER..Good luck mate I Think John Summed it up for you Josh Wife material. In terms of gear, Light sinker, size two long shank, small strip of marinated THIGH(i prefer as is tougher), Also guarantee if there is a bream in the area you will reel it in. When i take the missus i worry less about catching a feed and more about her not catching me on casting or avoiding her screaming cause a bream's spike has got her whilst trying to remove it... Good luck brother.

dazza1261
Hey Josh, sounds like a plan, was thinking about taking my WIFE down to Snails Bay, (Yurulbin Pk), as am land based. Good luck, I'll be using Bait, chicken breast. Does anybody have any idea what might be caught in this area ?
bennoz
take a picnic blanket, some sav blanc (or as kath and kim prefer some kardinay). head down to balls head, sawmillers reserve or bradleys head (bradleys is a National park - closes at 8pm so watch out) running ball sinker to swivel, 50cm leader to a #2 longshank. nice and easy. take the rod holders and enjoy the sunset! dazza1261
last nights episode down at the harbour only resulted in heaps of prawns and chicken being pinched, by what I think would be crabs, however found a perfectly good live catch net, and had a nice night out with my LOVELY Wife, chatting away, which is something we haven't had time for with Business and interuptions. What a great way to spend Valentines Day, Partner, Fishing, Harbour Views Edited February 14, 2012 by dazzagjc

dazza1261
I'm surprised what opening up the communications again can do. Geez if I new what fishing can do to a marriage, I would have taken it up earlier. (still have a fish phobia though)

joshot15
Had a nice time down at Waverton bay. Fished with chicken breast for about half an hour and got heaps of nibbles but no hook ups. decided to go back to trusty soft plastics but only managed a small pinky. Still a great arvo that we both really enjoyed.
