Nippers
Hey raiders, Went out the sarvo at 4pm and started off flicking plastics around the flats at lilli pilli. After not much action ( only a couple of missed hookups) drove over to mainbar and pumped some nippers. Went back down to lilli pilli and started drifting with the freshly pumped nippers
Nippers
The first 4 casts resulted in a flounder about 20 cm long and 3 just legal bream. Threw them all back. Next cast I had to wait abit longer for a hit but when it came it was worth the wait. My reel starts screaming out of nowhere and my new 1-3 kg shimano raider rod is bent over to the point where I started to get abit worried that it might not handle what I've just hooked. After 10 mins of massive runs and headshakes I started to tire the fish out. The whole time I'm thinking this is going to be the best flattie I've ever caught. It just felt like a massive lizard. Anyways finally start to see some colour and realise it's a trevally. Abit dissapointed that it wasn't a big flattie but the fight it put up was unbelievable. Ended up being 49cm and solid. I've got the pics on my phone but can't upload them for some reason. After that went and picked a mate up from wallys wharf and went back to the same spot all the way telling him about how good my last hour has been. First cast back and within 10 seconds I'm on again and this time it's a very healthy 53cm flattie. After that it went quiet but it was a great afternoon to be out on the water. pdelux
Trev's are a top fight on light gear especially around rocks. Great report!
