puffett
Decided to head out swansea heads today, conditions supposedly were good with 1.2mtr swell and little wind.Thought i'd head out to 100mtr mark and see what was down deep on bottom. Ended up giving that away as the current was so strong that with 2oz lead still could not find bottom. Decided to head back to around 46mtr to wreck where few small squire and flathead were caught and released and current still strong and wind was starting to get up so headed in closer to inshore reefs around wybung head. Very little action so proceeded to head north towards CHB looking for fish on the sounder. Again little action with a pike, trevally sergeant baker and small flathead all thrown back. There was quite a bit of surface activity aroumd so trolled a rapale CD9 magnum lure and caught some huge salmon all released which was fun The water temp was around 22deg but was very dissapointed with the results. Talked to few guys back @ ramp and they too had little result. My question is, where are all the fish. Still good day to be out on the water, better there than work...and now im goin for an ale ..cheers all PS forgot the camera would of liked to post thepics of the big salmon
