Hey guys,

What a tough days fishing. got the the boat back from the mechanic after a service and gave it a good run in. fish and bait was really hard to come by on sunday and the harbour was packed.

First stop at 3am was the spit for some squid. only managed 1 in what would have been an hour which i dropped at the boat!! everyone else that was there was having a hard time also.

I then headed for some yakka and smlimey ground only to be greeted with gigantic yakkas. seriously these things were so huge they woulf of eaten the kingie not the otherway around lol. managed about 5 and 2 slimeys in about 1 1/2 hours and it was beginning to hit daylight. went to some snapper grounds and dropped soft plastics, i was getting smashed on the nuclear chicken but they were tiny pinkies, i could see some big ones on the sounder just couldnt get a lure or bait to them.

Headed for port jackson fad (fad 5 or 7 cant remember) again here were like 10 boats there, knowone catching anything i casted and trolled lures around the FAD for a donut. i started to get really sea sick because i ran out of tablets so after a breif session of projectile vomiting i headed to long reef wreck. again nothing, not one king : (

Headed to 12 mile reef, dropped down a few jigs on something i could see on the sounder - nothing.

Headed back on for a troll around the headlands - Nothing

Down rigged the harbour with frozen peeled squid - nothing

Decided to head home and i have never seen tunks park boat ramp so packed. tempers were flaring with some impatient people. there would have been about 7 boat trying to launch or retrieve at the same time was crazy!

I think i should have tried a wider FAD based on other reports i have seen ohwell maybe next time.

Hope u find this informative

Stan

Yesterday the fish were in shutdown mode. Managed 9 squid in less in 30 mins in botany. Headed to some marks and downrigged the live squid. Plenty of bait around no kings. Spotted afew arches but they weren't interested in live squid. Oh well having callamari rings tonight lol

Don't sweat it mate, we too had it tuff (kingy wise)...got to the bait grounds and scored 6 nice size calamari within half an hour. Decided to go out wide due to the green water inside the harbour and to my surprise it stayed green 10kms out.

We hit nearly every reef and wreck from bondi to narrabeen (That we know off)...and all the reefs u mentioned minus 12mile/peak without a touch or a sign of king on the sounder. Strangely enough we decided to make a stop at the heads before calling it quits and manage 3 rats... Very disappointing day but wasnt the weather great

More of the same for me. I had squid, yakkas, jigs - everything! But no decent Kings. Fished plenty of likely spots outside that have been producing fish for zip.

Came back in the harbour and scored 2 of the biggest Sydney Salmon i have seen for a long time. A tough summer thats for sure!
