rachelrekyj
. I would like some advice. My two sisters and I are going to head down the coast (we live in penrith) on Saturday to spend a nice day fishing before one of us gets married. Are there any spots you can suggest. We are not looking for anything to catch and keep (unless it comes our way in which case, great) I am more looking for a spot where we wont be there for 6 hours and not even get a single bite. If we catch a few small fish and get to throw them back we will be happy. It might be nice to get one we can bring home and show the boys. Somewhere within about 2 hours of where I am (wollongong is about an hour and a bit) I’ve been reading through the forums and it seems like illawarra section is good. But I’m not sure where and if its worth it. I also should mention that I am 8 months pregnant and if we can avoid anywhere that is dangerous/difficult to get to. We have basic rods, very little fishing experience (we have caught a flat head once a few years ago) and just want a nice day out. Any suggestions? SCOTTYB
thanks so much for that, decision made! Yep, some drinks, snacks from the shops before the bridge, and a lovely lazy afternoon - still likely to catch flathead and bream on their way through. grandad
Fish the entrance to Lake Illawarra, between the Road Bridge and the Sea, on the southern side. Nice flat parkland, plenty of parking, Food shop, and toilets and fairly deep water. Hope this helps. Grandad
Luderick Hunter
Grab some live worms from one of the tackle shops and fish across from the bowling club on the vacant block and you will see action.
