cdol9
Hey guys after some feedback on Lowrance Elite 5 sounder. I've played around with it a bit , in normal sonar mode i never seem to see any fish arches at all, but in fish id i see heaps of fish symbols, manual says fish id mode not very acurate. Any tips? Plumb
Hi I have one, I just adjust the sensitivity each time I'm out, depending on depth ect. Ive never seen massive arches like you do in the shop on demo mode... rather i just use it to look for, bait fish, structure, drop offs, and whats at the bottom ect, Cheers
cdol9
Do you use default setting or fish ID?
Plumb
I use Default I also switch between the pages till I find a nice clean image that suits the surrounds. Mine a 5x so it has the two frequency settings. Hope that helps
garryl
A while ago I bought a book "Depth Sounder Secrets"by Rick Huckstepp. It's an AFN publication. It's a pretty good book with lots of detail, and if I can decipher it then most fishos probably can. I bought mine at a local department store, and have seen copies around. It probably is written for the more expensive and high tech type of sounders with all the bells and whistles (not sure where your sounder rates in that scale), but you do get an understanding of all the adjustments that are available on Sounders and what each setting does. If you want to get more out of your sounder and it has lots of features it's probably worth the investment. Garry
