arpie
Hi guys I've been very quiet lately, as I haven't really been doing any fishing at all (other than going out last week with my buddies from the bush, on a BBQ boat - I managed to put them onto some blackies, so all was not lost!! We head to the city tomorrow for me to get my hip checked out by an ortho specialist next week & Keith gets his next check up as well - plus our VW needs some work done on it, too, following a disappointing 'service' by a Dealer back in Dec! Heading to a VW specialist who will 'do what is necessary' to get us back to a powerful vehicle again! The dealer will almost 100% sure, have to pick up the tab! I've really been suffering a bit of depression & withdrawal symptoms with not not being able to get out & about - I couldn't risk the hip by fishing the Breakwall at all - and the other shore based options aren't really that exciting to me at this point in time! HOWEVER, hopefully the Quack will give me the green light to give the yak a go in small doses after the visit ...... a bunch of yakkers will be attending Forster for the ABT yak round late next week, so there'll be a lot of action going on soon!! I've been put onto a new anti inflam 2 weeks ago & it has made a real difference - only the occasional pain, instead of 24/7 - so hopefully it is fixing itself up & the visit to the Quack, more precautionary than essential! Don't want to wait another 2 months to see him if I need to! Once on their books, you can usually get in quicker! (Hopefully won't need it, but there as backup anyway!) Should be LOTS of topwater action going on out there over the next month or so - so I hope you've been getting into some good fishing! Hopefully I'll be joining you SOON!!! cheerio Roberta
james7
Good luck with the specialist next week Roberta, and I hope Keith's check up goes well too. And while I'm at it, I hope the old VW gets back to normal, especially if the dealer foots the bill! As for fishing, I'm sure you'll be back into it soon. As for the weather ...??? Cheers Peter
Hodgey
Roberta ... welcome back! Good luck to you both. Hope you get favourable reports. I'm sure you'll be wandering the roads in your flash vee-dub in no time! Look forward to catching up again soon. Cheers Ian
arpie
Thanks guys - glad to be back!! I really just can't WAIT to get back into my fishing again!! I've spent too much money on reels just recently .... they now need to justify themselves!! Agreed, Pete - that weather is a bit of a worry!! Almost the entire southern coast awash!! We haven't had a drop in the last 10 days!! LOL God knows, we had more than enough before that tho! Keith is still really going GREAT GUNS - he thinks it is so funny to be 'looking after me' for a change (joke) - when ever I asked him to cook dinner, he said "Let's go out'' LOL!! He competed in the SWR Triathlon the other weekend & cleaned up the youngsters, winning the 65+ (he is 75+!!) I usually return to SWR the following weekend ...... so right NOW, I should be up there for my annual WEEK OF YAKFISHING out of Trial bay Gaol Campground ...... and it looks like it was the first week of our 5 years doing it, that it HASN"T RAINED, too! And I missed it!!! Then I was going to head up to Toonumbar Dam for a bass fishing bash as well ....... like last year ...... but not this year! Ah well, there is always next year! Hopefully the Van will get a clean bill of health too! Yeah, seems to be one thing after another just now! .....VW ....BAHH HUM..BUG ..... Good one Stewy!!! So Keep ya fingers crossed for me getting back on the yak - I promise to take it easy for a few weeks or so!! (Promise!) Mind you, after Xmas Day, I won't be taking chances! Don't want that again! The last 10 weeks hasn't been fun! Hope you don't get flooded again down at Tuross again, Ian, tho with the lake open, should be OK?!! There is SO much water dumping down on the coast just now! See ya Roberta
slinkymalinky
Nice to see you back, Roberta. At least with the fishing bug, you can keep it fed even when not fishing... that's the real reason to buy tackle. Looking forward to reading some of your posts full of fish soon. Cheers, Slinky
