Rain Gear

Raiders,

Just looking for some rain-proof gear to fish in. A jacket and maybe a pair of pants.

Ideally I’m after something completely sealed, doesn’t have to breathable. Also ideal if it’s quite hard wearing, able to deal with fish guts, slime etc.

Currently using a gore-tex jacket which is too pricey to wreck and a little fragile. Would rather something cheap and tough than expensive and tech.

Any suggestions on where to look? Brands?

Cheers

hey carl, :1badmood::1badmood::1badmood:

i have one piece waders that come up to my chest (the ones with the boots and pants in one piece).......i use two jackets, the first being a light and thin spray jacket, covered by my decent rain jacket. they both came from a well known boating and fishing and camping store. waders i think were 70, jarvis walker i think they are, and my decent jacket was about 90 marlin is the brand. the lighter one i got from the fishing section in (k to the mart) cost was 20.

i must look like an absolute dik but no water gets through those fukkers lol :biggrin2::thumbup::yahoo::1fishing1:

Hey Mick,

Hehehe, awesome. Thanks for the suggestions.

I reckon I look like a dick anyway while wading around without the wet weather gear, it'll only add to the caricature.

Drop it to a working gear or something like that.

Grab yourself the "plastic" coats and pants more than likely they'll be hi vis but there pretty strong, as most are for construction wear., fish guts, scales should wash straight off. :thumbup:

I find those waders really warm me up, so I've put those aside for winter use, and I dont like the fact you have to peel every thing off to take a wizz...

Generally I like using a raincoat that goes down past my groin area so my undies stay dry, a pair of boardies and my crocs.

Team make good wet weather gear I think they make a 3/4 jacket that comes half way down the thighs. As others said a longer length coat quick dry boardies (with budgie smugglers underneath) I wear dunlop volleys in the wet they are light and you still get a decent grip and they dry out pretty quick at home!
