Slink
Hi all Raiders , Well with the offshore fishing around here lately being very hit and miss I have decided that I will be towing the boat to forster as soon as the weather fines up for some offshore action. Only thing is that I havent been fishing offshore there before. I have surfed there many times and heard that around seal rocks the fishing is great. Can someone tell me the lowdown on where to launch and what to expect ? I will be taking gear for bottom bashing to trolling lures for tuna , marlin ect. I would love to try for things like spaniards , big tuna , stickfaces , big dollies and the like. There will be 2 boats going too. If anyone is keen to tag along lets do it ! Its been crap here for a while now although I did see a free swimming marlin in 60 meters of water on wednesday. Thanks guys.
arpie
Hi Slink A lot of the area around Seal Rocks is now Reserve - you would need to know where you CAN'T fish, before going there. It would be easier to drive there & launch as it is quite a distance from Forster. Good fishing to be had just out from Forster, north or south. PM sent. We are just recovering from the flooding in early Feb - and it only started raining with the current system yesterday - just as the lake was finally clearing! Hopefully we won't get too much rain from this lot. I don't fish offshore, but if you go to the offshore reports & put Forster in, I am sure you will see other's who fish it regularly & may be able to assist. cheers Roberta
