rockfisherman
Hi raiders Whilst washing the boat today after a day on the water , I noticed salt on the Block and other parts under the cowling. My question is: Is it ok to hose the block down? Cheers, thanks.
a boat
Hi, yes a very good idea and every few months spray with corrosion guard or the like. All outboards breathe the air around it and if used in salt water then this is what happens and good preventative maitainance to do this. I do hope you do not have a transducer or the like spraying alot of water onto the cowling because this will make it worse. Cheers, Huey.
rockfisherman
Ok cool, it's just a small outboard, there is 2 green wires not connected to anything ( not sure what they're for ) plus some other wires? Still ok to hose down?

Spray on all engine areas liberally and waxes as you wipe off , contains anticorrosion additives protects from rust, salt leaving great shine. Have been using for many years and my engine looks brand new with no corrosion issues Hope this is helpful Chris.
