asDogs
Hey Fishraiders! I'm new to the sport and have only been fishing on weekends for the past three weeks, lately I've been heading down towards Parramatta River, Mainly Kissing Point Bay area and little off drifts around there. I've caught a few good Flathead and Bream, But lately I havn't been able to get any bites? What do you recommend is the best set up for Bream/Flathead in that area? Lines/Baits/Lures etc. Also, Lastnight while I was fishing there, I'd seen a large amount of quite big fish jumping in and out of the water, Was wondering if anyone could identify these fish? and if possible, How to catch one of these little badboys? Thanks in advance!
asDogs
Squidward, I believe you could be right about them getting chased by the jewfish, When my mate and I drove up to another location, an elderly man had snagged up two Jewfish just sitting on the grass, Big beasts as well So I should use hard bodied lures for those jumpers? not soft plastics? barossamagic
Heaps of mullet in the P'matta river. Some almost sound like a brick hits the water they are so big! Dough is the best bait i've found to catch mullet but i haven't tried everything. Use a light pencil float and try to fish early morning on sunrise. asDogs
Use Dough? You mean like, raw kneaded fresh dough? Or can I just use bread and such? Tell me about it! I was out lastnight at Kissing Point wharf at around 3:45 and they were just flying in and out of the water, every time I heard one i'd have to stop and ask my mate if he was casting around. With the dough set up to catch mullet, what do you recommend for my rod/line/sinker/hook setup? I'm honestly a newbie at fishing, past few weeks i've been chucking three sinkers on the same line so it'd smack rock bottom, haha!
