Hey Guys

I have a mate who lives on the Central Coast and he wants me to bring my boat up so we can go fishing in Towoon Bay

I've had a look on some maps and it looks there is a ramp at Towoon bay on the south side.

Can anyone confirm this and tell me what the ramp is like.

If there is no ramp can any pouint me towarsd the closes launch point.

Cheers

No worries Noodles, you go take your 2wd there and launch away but don't expect anyone to help you when you're stuck.

I think I know the ramp well enough, I live pretty close to it mate and it is for 4wd, you will be driving on sand and launching/retrieving on sand.

Try using STREET VIEW on Google maps and have a better look.

Cheers Leo

Whilst i have 4wd i might give the beach lauch a miss as not very experienced on the sand.

Is there anywhere near buy with a better ramp where i can still get to Towoon Bay to fish?

Cheers

terrigal boat ramp is the closest.

I never said it wasn't a 4X4 ramp Jack and I actually agree with you. I was simply posting information freely available online and relevent to the original post. This ramp was the subject of another online discussion not long ago relating to close access to Tuggerah Reef / The Entrance Bombie. The ute on the beach in the image may well be a 4X4 and probably is. As you can see he's not even over the concrete. I don't know how far down the concrete goes or how deep the sand is over it. I have been there to see people launch using 4x4 but I have also seen 2wd vehicles with empty trailers in the carpark. I don't recommend anybody try it without making their own assessment of the area first and of course launching a 12ft tinny is not the same as launching a 20ft fibreglass. I don't own a 2wd vehicle and my daughters Starlet isn't fitted with a towbar.

By the way we used to beach launch at Arrowarra and Patonga in the Holden station wagon.
