anf
Hi All, Went out on Saturday expecting the worse from the winds but managed to shelter away from it. Started at Flint and Steel but no luck as the windes were up around the 25 knot mark. Headed inland away from the winds and after the tide change we hooked into these Shovel Nose Sharks. So much fun and a great feed.

anf
Hey Anf, glad you had fun. Are the shovies good eating/ One of the best eating fish, only hassel is cleaning them but it's worth it. No bone and great for the kids done in a light batter.
Keflapod
Hey Anf, Indeed the shovelnose are very nice to eat. Especially the wings as the strands of meat there a sweeter than the rest of the fish. They do have a bit of an iodine taste like sharks do but their soft sweet flesh is very tasty. Cleaning them is a bit tedious (the skinning bit) but once you get over that bit, the rest is pure bliss !
