Fishing at bobbin head and apple tree bay! where to go

The other week I was fishing off the wharf at bobbin head and a little at apple tree bay and the only thing i caught was a weird catfish thing and a whiting which where both small, what should I be doing bait wise and position wise and rig wise. Does anyone know any spots for jews I heard there are some good holes. Thanks for any replies.
