Ive had success with 3inch gulp grub in watermelon colour for flathead yet to try out the squidy fish though apparently they are lethal on the flatties, got a couple of poddy mullet imitations which should be good i think many people say the silver fox is the closest to the poddy but i found a squidgy actually named "poddy" has any1 had any success on it because it looks lethal? only one way to find out

Cant go past the 80mm/100mm Squidgy Wriggler for bream and 100mm/120mm Squidgy Fish!

Another great lure thats up there with the best for flatties IMO, is the Tsunami Super Softie Paddle Tail 4"/5". they look great, really resemble a mullet, and really soft, but durable!

Hard to pick a favourite with either... Depends on the situation.

I have caught bream and flatties on poppers, divers, vibes, walkers and S/P's.

So lets list a few faves of each.

Popper for bream and flathead = Bushy's Stiffy in the pearl colour

diver for bream = lucky craft pointer 48 in bluegill

diver for flatties = Rapala XR 6 in white or blue

vibe = strike pro cyber vibe 35 or 42 in bluegill

walkers = bassday sugarpen in bluegill or lucky craft sammy 65 in chartreuse are deadly on both species.

S/P for bream = squidgy critter, bug, fish in 50 mm or wriggler in 80 (any colours for given situation)

S/P for flatties = 100mm wriggler or 70mm fish (any colours for given situation)

I have all of these on me plus many more when heading for an estuary fish and rarely walk away empty handed but those listed would be my go to lures in any given situation.

Good Luck.

Luc.

dont the squidgy fish in 65mm and 75mm work?

Absolutely they will. I have caught many a flatty on 70mm fish. They are perhaps a tad too big for bream but if you trim a little off the front I don't see why bream wouldn't go for them too. If you take an inch off the smallest lobbies bream go for those too. :biggrin2:
