J Hooked Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Um. 20cm. I could say bigger but then I'd be telling fishing stories! Top effort!
the one that got away Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 (edited) Only 42ish Well done, with the size of yours! Edited April 20, 2012 by the one that got away
Jewhunter Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 4.4kgs for me. A school of big fish came in when fishing the stones at Bluefish many years ago. We spun up 4 of them before they moved on. They all were between 4.2 & 4.8 kgs. Cheers, Grant.
Howdoweplaythis Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 33cm. Will hopefully get into beach fishing this winter and that should change.
Jew Stalker Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 You get some big ones down here sometimes. My biggest so far was 65cm. I thought it was a big Salmon at first until I got a closer look at it. Then I saw the green back and fin / scale configurations and knew straight away it was a tailor and the biggest one I had seen till looking at pics online. They are good fun to catch, watch those teeth though!

I have weighed other fish, and other species, and don't agree with all of the ratings given by Fisheries. Legal lengths are measured by the TL, yet some of the ratings are by FL. Why confuse the issue, Fisheries? One of those tailor I caught on a 10 pound handline, that was a good fight.

joshot15 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Got this one last year off the stones on a cotton cordell. Not heaps big but i was happy with the result.
matt84 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 my biggest is 80cm last year, have got a stack around the 70cm mark. 50-60cm fish seem to be pretty common around my area atm. they go hard on 6lb bream gear
rockfisherman Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I remember a fishraider member once caught one in the bay trolling lure. And if my memory serves me correct it was some where around 95cm. There was a picture also.
