Thought I'd have my morning coffee down at Green Point just left of Camp Cove, it was such a nice day and I've never fished off rocks before so I thought I'd give it a crack. Tried a hard plastic for a while and got nothing, I whacked on some fresh squid and again nothing, so I pulled out my trusty fresh prawns and bang I'm on...15cm Bream, tossed the little bugger back in the drink, next cast using the same bait from the last hookup, bang on again , this was a bit bigger but not by much, a 19cm Black Bream. Unfortunately I couldn't stick around longer, had to go to work, but I had an enjoyable morning :)

The rocks are always fun. You never know what is going to be around. I was out one day having some fun just spinning up some salmon on steelies, caught a little trout salmon about 25cm long and was fighting it back in on my snapper gear when Mr Kingy shows up and just swallows my poor little salmon whole and made a charge straight for the reef at Mach 10. Here I am with a 6ft 6 rod weighted at about 6-8 kilos and a stradic 4000 with 20lb braid and 30lb leader with a metre plus kingy in 10-15 metres of water. I had no chance... It got me down there, I felt a split second rub then "ping". Next thing you hear is a short expletive and if you looked hard enough you could see a tear welling in my eye hehehe. This fish had to weigh 10 kilos at least.

Wow what a shame, did this happen down at Green Point...or on the rocks somewhere else?

That was actually sitting on Tathra wharf about 12 months ago. That said there is no reason the same thing couldn't happen there. Both species are prevalent in those waters.
