Beautiful fish from the Harbour but what is it?

Question

Posted

Hey Raiders was fishing in the harbour today and caught this beautifully coloured fish. I have never seen one before but the colorations on it were amazing. Notice the longer upper tail with some electric blue, yellow, red and purple covering the top half of its body in horizontal stripes and the white belly region.

Just wondering what it could have been any help would be appreciated.

I'm starting to think it a juvenile rainbow runner

I would say not.

Have not seen one before, but it is similar to the Family NEMIPTERIDAE, Scientific name Pentapodus. That is the closest I can find in my books.
