Yowie Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Pumped some nippers early at Mainbar (while still fairly dark) and scared off a large eagle ray that was in less than knee deep water trying to suck up some nippers from the sand. Drifted the Lilli Pilli flats for 2 whiting and a trevally about 36cm. They were the only decent bites, the rest were bloody little toads over many parts of the bank. Moved to the Burraneer Bay flats for another whiting and bait stealing little reddies. Tried Gunnamatta Bay flats for another whiting and that was it. 2 of the whiting hit the 35cm mark. Put the boat away at my mothers place in the bay, and threw out a line with the scraps as bait for 2 bream of 26 and 33 cm. Some fillets for a good feed. The water up from Lilli Pilli was quite murky and had floating branches, leaves, a couple of bits of 3 x 2 timber around the 2 metre mark, and other junk. Be wary about high speed travel at night. Yowie.
Krispy ! Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Nothing wrong with a few whiting and bream for a feed mate, the water is still abit murky although we did fairly well in the harbour today we managed a 67cm king and some nice bream and trevally.

You picked up a good feed too. That's what counts.
