jim77 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Nice work fellas . I have mentioned it before but just a word of advice... Do not trust the rod holders on the Downrigger. Sooner or later you will lose a rod over board when it breaks on strike especially as you are catching a few decent fish. Either hold the rod or put it in a stainless holder.
bennyk Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 good on u boys , saw u out there today at molly was in the 580 tomahawk. had a quiet day, started outside but had to cum in due to sea sickness with one of the boys. congrats on the hoodie

Formosan Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 How many arches were on your sounder! Bet your adrenalin was pumping when you saw that. Top catch! Saw heaps of these around other parts of the bay especially around the drums. Not a problem Trung, want to help get you off those donuts mate! You've lost them all?!?!? lucky you got a whole bunch coming in Yeh lost them all only had 2. Got them for like $7 anyways. When are you heading out?

When are you heading out? if you can get them for $7 that's a good price.... at the local tackle shop the berkley jigs are $15 to $20! I problem I find with the berkley jigs is that the feathered arms/fin of the jig falls off after catching 20 or 30 squids.... not the best build quality jigs! The scented body (smells like fish arse) of the jig works well in the murky water we currently have. Cheers Trung

If i can get 5 squids on 1 jig they can fall off or snag itself no worries.

This war-torn jig is longer in its original color and note the 1 remaining arm on both the jigs! These 1 arm bandits still slays the squid though!! Trung Edited April 23, 2012 by dhype

Hey formoson nice hoodlum awsome fish. I was out to on Sunday I saw you at the drums there was some big fish there my sounder was showing some big fish. Awsome day for kings once again nice fish Hey Luke was that you working the most easterly drums? You had 1 other person on the boat right? How did you go? Were the squids easy to come by for you? Plenty of good shows on that drum, I put down a nice size squid and the buggers killed it within 2 minutes and only had half a hood left.
TheDon Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Nice fishing. Hey are there still a heap of small Jackets hanging around the drums?
Vince1974 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Nice work mate. What sounder you using? Good show on it!
