HAve been out a few times now in the Bay, on a Sat whilst Yacht racing with Botany Bay Yacht Club, (on the Shark Cat as Race Officer) and have dangled the line quite a few times now, as new to this, and for the life of me NOTHING. Mate of mine comes with me, and we try chicken, prawn, squid, lures, SP's. Where have all the fish gone. Or more importantly, WHAT am I doing wrong :15:

What are you doing wrong? Could be so many things wouldnt know where to begin. If your new the best thing is to go with someone experienced or even a guide. You will learn what takes years on your own in one day...

hi mate

Dangling your line just anywhere you decide is a not good idea, hitting locations where fish are known to congregate like molineux point is...

If you participate in yacht racing I'm assuming you launch from yarra bay? There's a couple of rocky outcrops around to the left which lead to one of the beaches at La Perouse, try just out from there where you see sand below you, there's the possibility for flathead bream and other species.

Another tip is dangle a burley bucket over the edge of the boat, be sure to only fill it up half way because burly swells up , this will attract fish, trevally more than anything.

Hi Gazza, we are the fixed keelers sailing out in the middle of the Bay, (3 -7) crew.

I've only dropped the line 2-3 times, as mainly go down to Wombarra Rock Pool, so don't have a boat to fish from, as mainly land based.
