billseeker Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Hi guys quick report went out and battled the wind today at brooklyn first of some live bait at the valiant then tried to head out to the flathead grounds but found that we were drifting way to fast with the wind then found some shelter behind lion island but no fish wanted to play then the wind really started to pick up so we headed around the corner from Juno point and anchored out of the wind a little and first bait down gets nailed by a 70cm jewy 30 mins later I thought I would check my live yaka as he wasn't kicking very much so as Im winding in the rod loads up and I was thinking a flaty for sure and was it ever my pb flaty of 83cm to say I was stoked was an understatement then the wind got harder and harder so finished the day of with a little hairtail at the end of fishing which I have spent many cold nights out on the hawkesbury for these things and then I catch one in the middle of the day go figure all in all a great day even though the wind made it hard Cheers Luke Ps sorry no pics I will try and load some of the phone if I can somehow
350chev Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Hi mate, Sounds like a good days fishing. To upload photos from your phone( iPhone I'm assuming) you need to download tapatalk from app store, then easy as. Cheers Daniel
ginko Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Billseeker, I saw the wind forecast for the day, and the 30-50km/hr ruled out hitting juno point on the changing morning tide after rain and high barometer. Evidently I need a bigger tinnie! Instead I trolled around in Careel Bay and near Taylors Point for kingfish on a yakka and squid strips. The yakka lived for another day, it was completely untouched, and the squid seemed to get eaten by pickers in about 2 second flat after hitting the water (chopper tailor?). Came home with a donut, but what a great day to be out on the water. Very few others out. Beautiful fronts and cloud systems rolling through. Good on you for the PB flattie and the Jewie to match.
