GABBA Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Hi there, as some of you may know (and many of you wouldn't know), I have been on a mission to find and catch a Carp. I have tried dozens of places (literally), but have had no luck. I have done all the suggested things along with using all the suggested gear. Anyway, after a stint at salt water fishing (and going quite well for a beginner I think), I am ready to look for Carp again. So my question is, does anybody know of any places that hold Carp that they can vouch for, that is, maybe they fished it recently or walked past and saw people feeding the fish etc. Thanks.
aeb870 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 My mates always go to a place called Fitzroy Falls and seem to always catch carp with the occasional other fresh water species. I went once for a drive there to check it out (I have never freshwater fished, but would like to) and there was about 1/2 dozen people fishing there. And when I asked, they seemed disappointed that they regularly catch carp instead of other species.
denzor Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Mate I've tried Toongabie Creek and Duck Creek, both Creeks hold carp. I fish them when the rain has settled down and the water is back to normal. I love my Bream fishn and the great thing about Carp fishn is I use the Same gear, its 10 - 20 from home, bait is cheep, and your helping the environment. Not sure where your from in Sydney but give them a go, it took us a while to find them but they are there!!!
reubs Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I'm pretty sure lake parramatta is loaded with carp, and eels...theres somtimes a couple of blokes on the banks wetting a line...Ive never fished there myself but then again I'm only looking for stuff I can take home for the pot and I dont think carp are good eating hehe
