tide'n'knots Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) gday raiders, fished the hawkesbury on saturday. Arrived around 6.30 am and went straight to my first chosen spot that fishes well on a run out tide, the target was jew however I only managed 4 undersized jew that were released to catch another day, as the tide slowed down I started to get bream attacking the larger baits so I scaled down one of the smaller rods and started using small strip baits and peeled prawn amd managed to pick up 2 bream around 27 -28 cm, then one of the rods with a big tailor fillet bent over and I came up solid on a fish that had a bit of weight but fought sluggishly, half way in I felt a couple of head shakes and thought that I may have hooked a just keeper jew, suddenly a cracker flathead appeared from the dirty water and my heart was in my mouth. I managed to slide the net under her and she went 73cm. later in the day I drifted near flint and steel and end the day with 4 flathead 2 flounder 2 bream and threw back 4 soapys 2 flathead and 1 flounder so it was a fun day! pete Edited May 1, 2012 by tide'n'knots
