Kooks
I'm planning a trip to fiji/Samoa in july and I'm looking to get a rod and reel combo. I plan to do mostly shore/flats fishing with lures with the occasional boat session. I'll be targeting trevally, queenies, small tuna etc I don't want to spen more that $300. So this is the set up I'm thinking. SHIMANO RAIDER II SERIES MF BARRA SPIN 662 ROD 2 piece 5-10kg ($120) http://www.anglerswarehouse.com.au/product_detail.asp?productnospaces=shimano_raider_ii_series_mf_barra_spin_662_rod_3334 Black Gold BG30 or BG60 - 8kg drag ($150) http://www.daiwa.com/reel/detail.aspx?id=47 I already own this but would like expand my collection pfluger Salt 50 http://www.purefishing.com.au/reels/pflueger/spin/salt/ What do you guys think? brettmann86
Look up the fin nor offshore reels, I love them they are beyond value for money with a drag that is worthy of reels with ten times to prices. Reels I find is personal for the angler but those reels can range from 140 up to 220 an they are awesome Edited May 4, 2012 by brettmann

Ross I find is personal for yourself but those reels can range from 140 up to 220 an they are swesome Fin Nor looks good. Only thing is it weighs about 750gms which might seem a bit heavy for the Raider rod.
