Rodb73 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Hi all, I'm only new to this site, although, I have been reading the posts for a little while and just recently joined. It's a great place to be when you want to know something about fish...!!! Anyway, to the point, I'm heading out with a mate tomorrow arvo/night for a fish off the beach around Cronulla. Can anyone offer any advice please on where to fish, what baits and whats biting at the moment? Thanks in advance for any replies... Rodb...
Basil D Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Hi mate, I Love fishing wanda beach at low tides, collect worms and pippis for bait, also take some pillies with you and cast out into the gutters and rips . In close fish with the pippis and worms with light gear. Good luck

boattart Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 There have been a few Salmon and Tailor around. Also heard of a few Jews being caught, in fact I'm thinking of giving it a crack on Saturday night.

Thanks for the reply and thanks to all who have replied. Are there any particular spots/gutters along the beach which are better thak others?
boattart Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 No particular spots as the beaches there move alot with weather. Best idea is to get somewhere high early and scope out the beach before the sun goes down. 6.30 ish high tide should give you a good sighting before it gets dark and a couple of hours to fish up to and after the tide change.
Rodb73 Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. Might see you out there one day.

Rodb73 Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 Hi mate, Just got home from that fish. No joy tonight on the beach...!!! Went just north of Wanda. There were a stack of people fishing. If you left your spot and walked back to your gear, you almost lost your spot. Got 2 tailor. 1 @ 42 long and the other @ 46. My mate got a nice flatty. Left there about 10ish, went over to Darook Park. Did a lot better their, we got a few nice bream and some flatty's. It was a good night though.
